Premier Inn Lincoln (Canwick)

Stayed here for 4 nights while working in the area. The staff were friendly and polite. The room was clean and very comfortable. Ample parking even if you have a van. I would stay here again.

When I arrived at the Premier Inn, I was greeted by a lovely lady at reception. She was very polite, friendly and welcoming, and gave a really good first impression. We then went up to our Premier Plus room, which was very nice, tidy and immaculately clean. The only downside was a slight sewage-type smell coming from the bathroom, which was a little unpleasant. Apart from that, the room itself was immaculate, very comfortable and really well presented. The following morning we went across to the other building for breakfast. When we arrived, a lady showed us to a table and we went to get a coffee, only to find that the coffee machine wasn’t working. I wasn’t aware there was another machine available until I asked, and was then told there was one right around the other side by the bar. I wasn’t particularly happy with that, as it would have been helpful to have been told when we were seated. As for the cooked breakfast, unfortunately it wasn’t the best. The sausages were really unpleasant and the hash browns were very dry. The bacon, eggs, tomatoes and mushrooms were okay, but overall the breakfast was disappointing and certainly could have been better.

Staff really friendly but that's the only good part! Issues include noise, tired buildings and dreadful ambience. 1. Stayed in a room on the ground floor - in an extended section, which is important to note. The floor in the room creaked like mad, so whenever one of us used the bathroom in the night, the creaking floor woke the other person up! Walking to the room, the floor in the corridor was totally fine (no noise) until you get to the bend where you obviously join the extended section - at which point, the corridor floor creaks - just like in the room. Only one hand towel provided for 2 people, cleaning not quite up to scratch (water marks from previous guests clear to see in the bathroom), light switch by bed broken. 2. The people in the room above us used a 'pod type' coffee machine 4 times at 5am... The noise woke us up - the machine noise must have gone through the table it was on and through the floor. It sounded like a ship's funnel - 4 times, at 5am. Guess they had an early start. The hotel can't help that, but why put coffee machines in, that make so much noise? Provide a mat for the table to muffle the sound, perhaps? 3. Oh my goodness... The exterior of the hotel building is tired, to say the least. Peeling paint, dirty render, the place looks nothing like the photos on the website or app. Needs maintenance! Gives an awful impression. 4. The breakfast is served in an old Beefeater opposite... Now called "Premier Inn" (weird) but still with all the Beefeater branding... Except inside has been cleared out of everything that would have previously made it feel like it has ambience. It's... OK... But bland, tired and odd, with furniture stacked up in sections that you pass as you're walking to where breakfast is served and just... odd. The outside is in a dreadful state, again, leaves an awful impression. + staff friendly, food just about acceptable, location good to visit International Bomber Command centre. - creaking floors woke us through the night, noisy coffee machines on 1st floor woke us at 5am, cleaning not brilliant, maintenance leaves a lot to be desired, old Beefeater in a dreadful state, gives bad impression. Overall - stay somewhere else
