North Shore Hotel and Golf Club

Me, my partner and our baby that just turned one decided to stay at the hotel because we see it was close to the beach (within walking distance) Upon arrival the we noticed it’s quite a few steps and steep for a pushchair so I went up alone to check ourselves in. We stayed in the lodge suite and was advised by the receptionist it would be easier if we walking down at the front of the premises so we didn’t have to carry our bags too far which at the time seemed helpful enough, so we went over got sorted and went up to grab some dinner inside. Atmosphere was quite strange, I could tell nobody wanted a child inside which made us feel a little uncomfortable and rushed eating so we didn’t really get to enjoy it from the inside much although it looked half clean was quite a bit of clutter everywhere. We decided not to eat inside for dinner due to our first experience I would rather not feel like we’re out of place so we went out for tea which was absolutely delicious at The View. We come back the football was on so I nipped up to get myself a couple beers, took them back to the room went up multiple times to get some drinks and soft drinks for my partner. The room was clean and even the kettle seemed very clean as we needed it for the babies bottles which was good. Next day we got up and all went to breakfast which wasn’t too bad, not brilliant I had to wait 15-20 minutes just for the eggs to be refilled by this time my partner had eaten and so had the baby. We all went back down to our room and as we’ve came by our car we’ve noticed quite clearly somebody had hit our windscreen with a golf ball the same morning and completely shattered it there was glass on the front seats, glass all over the babies bag and some of his clothes that was on the front seat which we had to throw away, I nipped up to the front desk to filled a form out and have a word about what can be done and I was told everything will be fine it will get sorted. Take some pictures and the invoice for the work etc and it will get reimbursed… A week goes by had no email or communication whatsoever so I sent a polite email asking for any help or information on what’s going on, 2 weeks later totally been blanked but they managed to spam my email with please leave us a review emails, so here it is. it’s now been 3 weeks and I’ve had no contact from the hotel or their “finance team” I spent around 2-300 pound in this establishment included the room for the night and then forked out for the windscreen which total staying here cost me almost £500 just for a single night and definitely not happy about it. Just the unprofessionalism of having no response on the matter and being blatantly blanked providing a complete disregard for their guests that had spend £300 there. Honestly if you’re thinking of staying here I probably would avoid it.. was speaking to another guest before leaving as they see our car and they was completely gobsmacked by the damage the ball had done and went on to say believe it or not their experience had been just as bad. I definitely wouldn’t be coming back here, I’d rather go sleep on a bench.

The location next to the beach was perfect. The hotel was clean and so was the room. The food was good. Maybe put a more on the children menu. The staff were friendly and helpful especially the guys in the bar they were really good to my 7 year old grandson. Nothing was too much trouble. I would stay again and woukd recommend this hotel to anybody. Its a very peaceful and relaxing place to stay

Enjoyable stay with friends. Used the hotel as a base to play golf elsewhere too in Lincs. Food fine and staff friendly and helpful. Course itself had clearly suffered with the recent drought but enjoyed the ‘Braid’ experience nonetheless
