Chiswick Lodge Hotel

We stayed at Chiswick Lodge for two nights, in Rooms 9 and 10. The accommodation is in an absolutely superb location. The entrance area features a security locking system with an intercom. Immediately upon entering, you reach the reception via a beautiful, historic and charming staircase. So the distances to be covered are short. At reception, you are greeted straight away by a colourful and stylish ambience. The hotel owner is exceptionally friendly and helpful; a true role model in terms of hospitality and genuine interest in his guests. He is also happy to lend a hand, whether it’s helping with luggage or showing guests around the premises. The building and the rooms impress with their clever layout and functionality. The furniture and works of art are tastefully arranged and really bring the atmosphere to life. The rooms feature comfortable beds and functional bathrooms. The windows offer truly magnificent views. Admittedly, the rooms aren’t quite flawless – but then, who or what is perfect? They all have their very own charm and character. After all, the point is to enjoy your time in Chiswick, not to search the hotel and rooms for the odd minor sign of wear and tear. Chiswick Lodge? Any time, and I’d happily return again and again!

We needed a place to kip near to a party in Chiswick. I nearly didn’t go to this hotel as the reviews were so bad…. But the guy on the desk was really friendly and the sheets were clean. I had low expectations but it was ok. It is a two star in London. It is what it is. If you want premier inn standard go elsewhere. If you don’t mind a dirty carpet then fine. The trainline wasn’t too noisy. Overall we slept pretty well.

We had low expectations for this place and only planned to stay there to sleep, but this was far worse than anticipated. When we arrived to drop off our luggage before check-in, we were greeted by a man who appeared to be staying in a back room rather than working at a proper reception. He was wearing pajama pants and had no shoes or socks on. We decided to give it a chance and returned at 2 PM to check in, only to be met again by the same man, still barefoot and dressed the same way. The reception desk was sticky. We were then led down a hallway that smelled strange—a mix of smoke, sweat, and spices. When we entered the room, the floor was dirty, especially along the walls. The bathroom was clearly not cleaned properly: the shower had visible grime and buildup, with mold along the edges, and the sink area was also dirty and worn. The window showed signs of neglect, with dirt, damage, and mold. Behind the beds, the wallpaper was peeling off the wall, with mold stains and other brown marks. When we lifted the bedding, we found more brown stains, hair, and even a small bug. We found this so uncomfortable and disturbing that we immediately left and simply placed the key cards at the reception. Would not recommend under any circumstances.
