Dreamhouse Apartments London Vauxhall

The location is these apartments are fantastic! The development itself has restaurants, shops, river facing bars, it's own pier and internal gardens. It's right on the tube or you can walk to London eye and Westminster in 20 min. The apartments are under new ownership now and they seem to really care. Great customer service, lovely lady at check in was very patient and welcoming. Our apartment was spacious and comfortable, had a balcony and river view. We loved it!

The apartment is well situated next to the tube and train station at Vauxhall and it is a quick 8 minutes into central London on the tube. The complex has several restaurants and shops close by. The apartment itself was spacious and I found the bed very comfortable; however the apartment is very hot and stuffy with no air conditioning or through draft as there are few windows that can be left open to cool it down when you are out. Might be great for winter but mid July was unpleasant. Whilst at home the doors from the lounge and master bedroom open onto the patio and had great views to the Thames. The apartment was supposed to be serviced during the week that we were there (albeit only on 1 day out of 4), but even this was not done. It was fairly clean when we arrived. The WiFi was excellent when it worked, but it stopped working the evening before we left and we did not know how to re-set it. The bathrooms were great but no soap or shampoo was provided in the en suite bathroom. I find it strange that self catering apartments never provide a cloth or dishwashing liquid in the kitchen; however this appears to be standard across all self catering facilities. We were hesitant to book the apartment as it appeared to be a hassle to get the keys, but this was well handled and the agent met us at the agreed time. We would have like to check out slightly later that 11h00; as we had a much later flight; however this request could not be accommodated and there is nowhere to leave luggage if you want to spend more time in London before moving onto your next destination. Stayed for 4 nights in early November. Building work severely limits drop-off area for taxis. There is no Reception so make sure you set up a time and location to meet representative with key and make sure you have their phone number handy otherwise you will wander aimlessly with your bags through the apartment complex until you arrive at the office marked 'Concierge' - Yes!! - to be told that they can't help you. The home handyman is useful when the shower head falls off, the bathroom door handle falls off, the bedside drawer facia falls off, you run out of hot water, every TV channel is pixelated and one of the 2 elevators breaks down. The noise of the construction work is irritating, but it is fortunately blocked out by the sound of sirens.....every 5 minutes.
