We have stayed at the Gatwick Turret s few times, they have friendly & helpful staff, Horley is close to Gatwick airport, it's ideal if you have a early flight. Will be staying there next holiday as well.

Disappointing stay
We booked our room over six months in advance and specifically chose a ground-floor room as we had an early start and didn’t want to have to carry our heavy suitcase upstairs. However, on check-in we were allocated Room 6, which was upstairs. This wasn’t a major issue for us personally, but if I had specifically required a ground-floor room due to mobility issues, this could have been a real problem. This also wasn’t checked with us at check-in.
The communal areas of the hotel are looking very tired, with scuffed door frames and chipped paint everywhere you look. Unfortunately, the room was equally dated, with a very 1970s-style patterned carpet and pink pelmet curtains.
The shower was particularly disappointing. There were brown stains on the wall panels, the bracket holding the shower head was broken and, combined with the very poor water pressure, this made for an unpleasant shower experience.
The towels were another disappointment. They were extremely small and felt very poor quality. I’m a size 12 woman and the bath towel barely wrapped around me, so I can’t imagine they would be adequate for anyone larger. Larger, better-quality towels would make a noticeable difference.
Soundproofing was also a major issue. We could hear virtually every word being said in the neighbouring room, which wasn’t ideal when we needed an early night before a 7am flight. There was also only one plug socket on one side of the bed, which was inconvenient. In this day and age, having at least one accessible socket on each side of the bed should really be a basic expectation.
There were, however, some positives. Communication with the hotel before our stay was good and we received a warm welcome on arrival. Other than the shower, the room was reasonably clean, and the bed itself was comfortable although only a standard double rather than a king size that we prefer. We also got good value for money as the hotel was running a parking deal at the time of booking, making it a particularly good price.
Unfortunately, despite these positives, we wouldn’t return. The hotel has potential, but the communal areas and rooms are in need of considerable investment and improvement.
