Shout out to Oscar downstairs for the great service and friendly conversations! Came for the Metallica concert with my partner and mother in law, we had an incredible stay. Everything we needed was provided for. The breakfast selection was great and the atmosphere was comforting and friendly.

1) The reception was unprofessional and unwelcoming, and failed in its most basic function. A Holiday Inn Express staff member named Albert refused to accept that we had a confirmed reservation, even though I showed him the booking.com app. This left me scrambling late on a Saturday night to secure alternative accommodation for my relatives, one elderly and the one a child, both visiting from abroad. Albert was not sympathetic. Very stressed and with limited options, I ended up paying £400 online - a nonrefundable booking - for a room elsewhere for my relatives. It was only later that another staff member, Abdel, confirmed that we did in fact have a valid confirmed booking at the Holiday Inn Express all along — one I had made and had confirmed weeks in advance. While Abdel wasn't sympathetic or apologetic either, he at least managed to locate our reservation correctly. 2) I had originally booked a twin room for my relatives, but the hotel had only reserved a double room. Again, staff offered no apology or sympathy. 3) None of the power outlets in the room worked, which meant my relatives had no way to charge their phones — a serious issue, since staying in contact with me was essential. I ended up taking an emergency Uber ride to the hotel late at night to bring my relatives power banks. We raised the issue with reception both that evening and the following day, and staff assured us it would be fixed soon. However, no repair person was ever sent, and the problem was never fixed during my relatives' stay.. 4) The breakfast buffet was awful. I joined my relatives for breakfast on one occasion and paid £25 as a walk-in customer — an overpriced amount given the poor quality of the food and drink

Everything was excellent. Oscar one of the employees was great. His service was lovely very helpful and friendly.
