St. James’ Court London, A Taj Hotel

I have been staying in this hotel past many years. Every time I have enjoyed my stay. This time its even better as the hotel lobby and areas adjoining lobby has undergone a renovation and has a new modern look. The hotel has a very good location near many tourist attractions . Its walking distance to Buckingham Palace , St. James Park , Big Ben , Westminster Abbey. Hotel is walking distance to.St. James and Victoria train and subway stations. Hotel has a very good all day dining restaurant TH-51 and 2 fine dining restaurants - Quilon (Indian- many South Indian delicacies they serve ) and House of Ming ( Chinese ) . New bar fully renovated also opened. Food of all restaurants are excellent and very good service . Breakfast spread is elaborate . Many Indian dishes also part of breakfast . Service of Mr Rabindra House of Ming simply outstanding. Hotel has a nice courtyard . Frontdesk service of this hotel has always been outstanding. Great care was taken this time by Viren , Kathan , Pawan and Shraddha in front desk. They all tried to make my stay a memorable one this time.

I stayed at St. James’ Court, A Taj Hotel on 7 May 2026 to celebrate my birthday, and I really enjoyed my stay. From check-in to check-out, everyone was friendly and welcoming. The hotel has a nice atmosphere, and my room was clean, comfortable and very peaceful after a long day exploring London. I would especially like to thank Riddhima Dixit for helping with my birthday arrangements. She was very kind and made sure everything went smoothly. The surprise birthday cake was a lovely touch, and it honestly made my birthday even more special. I also really enjoyed the breakfast. There was a good variety of food, everything was fresh, and it was a great way to start the day. The staff were always polite, smiling and ready to help whenever I had a question. I also liked the location because it was easy to walk to many attractions. This was my first birthday celebration in London, so I’ll always remember this stay. Thank you to everyone at St. James’ Court for making my birthday so special. I’m glad I chose to celebrate it here, and I hope to visit again in the future.

**A Hotel We Continue to Love, Though This Stay Had Some Cleanliness Issues** We have stayed at Taj St. James’ Court in London multiple times over the last 10 years, and it is a hotel we know well and continue to appreciate. I am a loyal Taj NeuPass member, so I understand the Taj brand and the standard of hospitality it represents. The service here is almost always impeccable, and that remains one of the main reasons we keep returning. We stayed for two nights at the end of June 2026 and had two rooms, both of which were upgraded, which we appreciated. However, this time we were somewhat disappointed by the cleanliness of one of the rooms. For both days of our stay, even after my wife mentioned the issue, there was visible hair and dirt in the room. My wife also noticed some staining on a pillow, possibly blood stains, or at least stains that should not have been there. For a Taj property, and especially one we have always held in high regard, this was disappointing. The breakfast buffet is usually excellent, and overall it remains one of the strengths of the hotel. However, this year the Indian breakfast items did not feel quite up to the standard we experienced last year. The idli and dosa were not as good as before, and the poha and vermicelli were both quite bland. The breakfast experience was definitely better during our previous stay. That said, we had a fantastic meal at Quilon, the adjoining restaurant specializing in Indian coastal cuisine. The food was expensive but delicious, and the service was excellent. They were close to closing around 10 pm but still accommodated us warmly, which we really appreciated. The service from the hotel staff was also very good in other ways. During this stay, I thought I had lost my sunglasses, which my two naughty boys had actually managed to hide under the bed. The hotel security and concierge teams were extremely helpful and even reviewed CCTV footage to help locate them. We also accidentally left behind a small envelope with cash, and the hotel staff found it and are keeping it safely for us until our next visit. That level of honesty and care is exactly why we continue to trust the Taj brand. I have had several conversations with the manager about the issues we experienced, and the hotel has offered to upgrade us on a future stay, which we appreciate. Overall, this was still a lovely stay, and we would definitely return to Taj St. James’ Court. The service and hospitality remain excellent, and the staff continue to be gracious and helpful. However, the cleanliness standards need to be maintained more consistently. We had a slightly better experience last year than we did this year, and I sincerely hope the standards do not continue to slip.
