Premier Inn Gatwick Crawley Town West

A/C and heating have been taken out of rooms, the rooms are looking very tired and in need of a refurb, we asked for more milk and coffee and was told sorry we don’t have any

I stayed here for two nights. On my first evening, the power went off at around 6pm and it was still off for over 24hrs. I couldn’t shower, use the room fans, TV or hairdryer, iron my clothes, or charge the equipment I needed for work. Breakfast wasn’t an option either. I also couldn’t find any staff around that morning to ask for an update on what was happening or when the power might be back. I understand that power cuts happen, but going through the whole night and the following morning without those facilities was really difficult, especially when I had a wedding to get to. I was not offered a hotel transfer during my stay.

We arrived at 5.30pm to a dark reception, to be told but other annoyed guests there was a power cut! Reception then informed us that the power had been off for 24 hours and we were unable to stay there, arrangements were being made for us to stay at another Premier Inn (no choice as to which one). We were told to wait while the reservation was transferred. So we waited, in a dark reception with some other very annoyed and angry guests for over an hour. The toilets were not able to flush, but there was running water. At no point did any staff enter the toilets to use any kind of disinfectant, the wait was well over an hour when we were eventually told we could now move to the other Premier Inn. On arrival there we were met with Reception telling us they were not expecting us, NO reservations! Us and other parties were stood around a busy reception waiting for over another two hours. In either hotel no refreshment offered. A vague apology but that was all. Complete disgrace. We should have been informed before. We spent 4 hours waiting, we were tired and hungry. No financial compensation except a breakfast we did not need as we had an early flight.
