I honestly couldn't rate this hotel more highly. From the moment we arrived we were very well looked after, with Paul assisting with parking then taking our bags as we were a little early. The hotel is beautifully decorated throughout, and I particularly enjoyed my time relaxing in the Library. The room (ground floor, courtyard access) was incredible. Huge, with an enormous bathroom with beautiful smelling toiletries. There was a writing desk, comfortable chairs, lovely tea; everything we could have wanted. A highlight for us was being offered a complimentary glass of wine, which we took down to the small terrace in the adjoining hotel restaurant and watched the world of the Thames go by! A real sun trap if you're lucky with the weather. Breakfast again was excellent, with a good variety on the continental buffet and a very tasty cooked breakfast, which we ate sitting next to the enormous windows overlooking the river. The location for us was perfect, as we had a visit planned to Hampton Court and it's just over the road. There didn't seem to be many restaurants or bars nearby, but nearby Kingston would have been an option if we weren't feeling lazy! I loved every moment of being in this hotel and would return in a heartbeat.

We were excited to wrap up our trip to London with a stay at the Mitre Hotel Hampton Court. The Mitre's website photos were lovely and there were no red flags the reviews we read. We chose the Thomas Wolsey Suite, which seemed beautiful in the photos, but unfortunately did not live up to our expectations. We knew before we booked the hotel that there was no air conditioning, but we weren't worried. We should have been. The suite (second floor), part of an annex to the historic main building, faces a very, very busy highway and traffic circle. There was traffic noise all day/all night. And, while there were many windows, only 1 window could be fully opened; the others were sealed with plexiglass. Closing the widow did not do much to diminish the traffic noises. The room's large copper tub, looked so inviting in the website photo, but in reality it had a good-sized dehumidifier on the side of the tub with a long white tube attached that extended out the window. The small bathroom could use an update. The entire sink faucet was loose and there was an odd fabric covering on the bathroom floor. With that said, the members of the staff were attentive and friendly and the food in the hotel's restaurants and bar was great.

We had a wonderful stay for our wedding anniversary. From the moment we arrived the service was very friendly and efficient. We were escorted to our room which is a rarity now. Fresh bottled water everyday. The hotel is ideal for visiting Hampton Court Palace. We had a good meal in the hotel and also eat at the Mute Swan just next door. Perfect for a special occasion.
