Knaresborough Serviced Apartments

Saturday 20 June 23.30....arrive at No 2, the buzzer is taped up , no notices or signage, and I have seen on my booking form that no check in after 23.59...try kicking door etc. nothing ...! Suddenly a couple walk up entrance steps, and tell me there is a concierge at No 8 , who can let me in. So I wander along to No 8... there I can see a concierge a sleep over front desk... press buzzer , kick the door and he wakes up and comes to let me in..I explain that I am picking up keys for one night, after 5 minutes he shows an envelope , but my first name mispelt,no surname, but he takes me back to No 2 top floor studio and I have a bed... no wi Fi or any information.. Seriously, the shower room is clean, the studio single room is lacking in every respect, poor paint work, horrible kitchenette, but it has a/c ..and I get out early... At ground floor I see signs, telling me 1 .Wi Fi code 2.That the receptionist is away but the one at No 8 will be available ( Erggh if the sign is on the interior wall ,how could any one know that on arriving at the front door at No 2 go to No 8 ?!, so lucky that couple arrived back and told me) My Studio apartment was NOT Boutique but location good, value good, communication horrendous..

Please look up the meaning of boutique! This place !!! Kitchen tap .. you had to hold with both hands to turn on and off as not properly secured, window net torn, shower not working properly, the bed frame make a noise,poor maintenance everywhere the air conditioning only goes down to 19c which is useless and if you have mobility issues there are two flights of stairs to each floor and there are four floors... Pay a little bit more and enjoy your stay in London. But definitely AVOID this place.

We stayed here for one night for a theatre visit. The room was much smaller than expected with the double bed in the corner next to the wall. The bedroom wardrobe was at the bottom of the bed. As the be was not very big our feet touched the wardrobe and if sleeping next to the wall you have to climb over the other person to get out of the bed during the night. Although the room has microwave and is a self catering apartment there is only one chair and one small table in the room. The room was very clean and had a nice temperature. Check in staff were very pleasant and the room was quiet. Good location with plenty of restaurants within walking distance. We stayed in a double studio.
