Booked The Stables for a birthday lunch on a Monday. Just a quiet celebration, 2 friends. Service was friendly & attentive, food was served quickly and they had a good choice. We chose the chicken Caesar burger which was very good. Panacotta for desert which was delicious. We really enjoyed our time here - it’s a lovely place and staff didn’t rush us and looked after us very well. Really enjoyable!

2026: What a difference a year makes – and not for the better. Absolutely awful. I recently returned to The Grove for a business conference, having visited in 2025, and the decline in standards is shocking. The room was completely unacceptable. The bathroom was in a disgraceful state, with blood on the towels and floor. There was visible mould on the silicone and grout, and the shower hinge was dirty and clearly not maintained. The bedroom itself felt dated, with stained bedsheets that should never have been in use. Service in the Glasshouse restaurant was equally poor. There were nowhere near enough staff for the volume of guests, leading to long queues, slow service, and limited food availability due to ongoing cooking delays. For a venue of this supposed calibre, it was chaotic and disappointing. The mobile WhatsApp service offered by the hotel was effectively pointless. Despite sharing photos and concerns, the responses were inadequate - refer to photos. Overall, the experience was deeply disappointing and far below expectations. With so many fundamental failures in cleanliness, service, and organisation, it’s hard to understand why anyone would choose The Grove for an event, wedding, or conference.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We had such a wonderful stay and the whole experience met our expectations. From Ralph’s Beach to the Glasshouse Restaurant, everything was beautifully done and created a relaxed, luxury atmosphere while still being incredibly family-friendly. A special thank you to Tiago, at the Ralph Beach who was attentive, friendly, and always happy to help with a smile, and to Lubka at Ralph Beach, the manager, who made us feel genuinely welcome and ensured everything was perfect throughout our visit. Having also stayed at The Grove, overall guest experience here was great. We tried all the restaurants from skewed to Glasshouse and were Fab. The weather was on our side, and our children had a fantastic time. Thank you to the entire team for making our stay so memorable. We’re already looking forward to coming back!
