Carlton Hotel

Excellent stay at Carlton Hotel. Great location, very clean rooms, and friendly staff. A special thank you to Samira for her warm welcome and excellent customer service. She was very helpful and made my stay even more enjoyable. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend this hotel.

Scam hotel. Booked through Booking.com. set price , confirmed booking, pay on arrival. Same day email from hotel saying I have to pay now or price will double. I refused, so they cancelled the booking. THEY HAVE BEEN REMOVED FROM BOOKING.COM

I travelled from Spain to stay here for one night as they had one room left for £80 on booking.com which was a good deal. Instead of checking in early I spent the day in london doing what I needed to do first so I only arrived at the hotel at 11pm. On arriving there were people sat outside and inside the doorway which I found strange at first and then u found out why. I asked to check in to then I was asked if I had booked on booking.com I said yes, I was then shown a piece of paper that basically said that anyone who had booked through booking.com had been scammed as someone had hacked their account, I wasn’t buying it! I then spent an hour on the phone to booking.com trying to sort it out, they told me that in fact it was the hotel that had cancelled my room (and other peoples) because there was a pricing error. They also told me that that had received no complaints from the hotel regarding the supposed fraud yet the hotel told me they had contacted them, this was by form of email, which he also had printed out in the reception so I asked to see it. The emailed wasn’t even sent to booking.com but just some random email address and it was literally sent the day before I arrived, when I pointed that part out the staff member became agitated. He also stated that the listing had been taken down from booking.com “days ago” however I showed him on the app that I could literally go on there and book another room the day after. To me it just smelt like they had an error with the listing price but instead of just telling people and giving them notice they just waited for them to turn up, bearing in mind there was also a couple with a young child now sat out in the street and this is London centre on a Saturday night at now 23:30. Absolutely disgusting
