The Belfray Country Inn

Beyond the usual problems in a hotel that is not really maintained: bathroom door impossible to close for example. There is also the lack of curtains at the window which leaves the room almost in full daylight late at night and very early in the morning. I add the meager and sad breakfast. BUT IF there is also a wedding then do not expect to sleep. After reporting to the staff that we could hear the music in the room, they swore to us that it was not the case. In any case, they stopped around 10 PM at the latest around 11 PM. Naively, we believed them. While at 3 AM it continued, especially since the participants came to smoke, talk loudly, and sing under our windows (room 115) The value for money is really poor when considering the 3 short hours of sleep.

This is a fair hotel. However I feel like the current TripAdvisor score (4.8) is very generous. It has a nice traditional decor, plenty of parking outside and was clean. However it could do with a revamp in some areas to truly combine modernity and tradition. The shower in our room was terrible. 2 days it was cold and wouldn't warm at all, on the last day it was hot but had no pressure. The bathroom could do with a revamp, the floorboards are creeky and plug sockets are in inconvenient places that aren't near the beds. We went down to the bar to watch the World Cup only to be told that they 'don't really show sports' which I thought was odd for a Hotel bar. Otherwise all was fine.

Bedroom was very warm even with all the windows wide open, bed was comfortable. Music was to loud in both the restaurant and breakfast room. No hot water on the 2nd morning. Tv in the room was poor. Did not think that it was good value for money
