We booked to stay here for a friends 40th/wedding party and the hotel had double booked the venue for the function so it had to be moved. We all decided that we would still stay in the hotel. When we returned from the party we decided to go to the residents bar for night cap, there was an induvial drinking in the bar who proceeded to verbally attack people in our party, the level of threating language that was used and the hotel staff were very slow to respond and remove this induvial who was not staying in the hotel. The hotel staff moved him to the main foyer so that our party could not safely get to our rooms. I have never felt so unsafe in any hotel as I did in this one and there was no security for a 4* establishment that holds parties. I did email the Hotel after to say how shook I was and they didn't want to know. The rooms are dated and the hotel itself felt grubby the carpet in the main bar is very grubby which we noticed when we were at breakfast.

Superb restaurant quality food beyond my expectations. Kids menu was great also.

Hotel well located near the city if you are by car. For a 4-star hotel there are still some points to review... Double bed a bit tight in width, we are of slim build and I imagine the disaster for overweight people.. Small touch of cookies and powdered chocolate well appreciated EXCEPT that there was no bottle of water or kettle (go figure). Toilet seat too small compared to the bowl and very poorly attached. Satisfactory breakfast. Staff very pleasant both at the reception and at the restaurant. In short go there but do not expect a 4-star worthy of the name
