Red Hall Hotel

I booked 3 rooms expecting them to be together and 1 room was on a different floor. I asked to be moved but they were full. My room 21 was one that had not been renovated yet but was still the same price as the other 2 rooms that I had booked which were much nicer. The positives was that the view was lovely and it had a lovely box for tea, coffee and cups etc. It also had a bible in the drawer which I love to see in a hotel. We went to an event which was great. Food was very good at the event and in the restaurant. The negatives more cobwebs than a Halloween party. Spider in the lamp. Mattress was rubbish, when sitting on it you could feel the base, had a really poor sleep. Long mirror was missing. Dated furniture. Bath panel broke. Shower was missing the rubber seal on the glass so the water went every where when we had a shower. Stains on the carpet, walls, bedding. Would not stay there again.

We had a family gathering here at the weekend and can’t praise the team enough they were all fab! Great space upstairs that was accessible and had toilets, was set up really lovely and food was great.

Not a bad place overall, and we went for a family event, but unfortunately the prices let it down. The drinks were particularly expensive — £3.50 for a kids’ Fruit Shoot is excessive when you can buy a pack of six for roughly the same price in a shop. I understand prices are higher at venues, but £3.50 for a small children’s drink feels unreasonable and really adds up when you’re there with a family. The place itself was okay, but the pricing definitely left a sour taste and would make me think twice about returning.
