Excellent situation in the city centre. Reception staff very welcoming. Rooms and other parts of the hotel very quirky ie ceiling pipes visible etc - sounds odd but works somehow. We had booked a double room but informed on arrival it was upgraded to a signature room. Bonus. Room was large, bed was huge, shower/toilet etc clean, tea/coffee making facilities. Double glazing meant the room was quiet despite being in the city centre. We hadn’t booked breakfast but decided we would pay the £17 (to be fair felt that was a bit pricey) and that would mean we could relax before catching our train. When we asked if it was ok because we hadn’t pre-booked breakfast the receptionist said it was fine - and then told us we could eat for free! We were only staying for one night as part of a visit to the theatre and have to say we were very impressed by The Alan and should we ever stay in Manchester again would not hesitate to book a room here.

Located in the centre of Manchester, this hotel is great. Good, clean rooms, a super comfortable rooms and a lovely breakfast as part of the rate. The staff are lovely particularly Robyn, Jamie and Brontë on the Front Desk who couldn’t have done more for me. I will be back.
