Hendham House Hotel

Excellent hotel with friendly and genuine staff

This hotel is cheap for a reason. I had parking reserved prior, and when I arrived at the property I found the gates locked but had no contact before to say who to contact/how to access the property. The manager did come out after I phoned, but then disappeared as me and my partner entered the hotel. First impressions not great as cleaning supplies left in the corridor unattended, dirty kitchen wear, and a guest who evidently had taken some hard substance. The lady on the front desk was helpful. We arrived too early to check in which we knew. Arrived back at the hotel before 10pm, manager seemed fine when he said we could listen to music and have a drink in the garden area. Not even 5 minutes later, he comes out to change the music and spend the next 1 hour and a half telling us all about his ‘millionaire lifestyle’ and telling very uncomfortably rude comments about women and young girls. Showed us all of the cameras around the hotel. Told us how someone complained he is a ‘wife stealer’ - can confirm this would happen. Telling me jokes about p***y whilst my partner was in the toilet. When we had enough we said goodnight, to which he replied ‘good luck trying to sleep as everyone will have a party when they’re back’. Unnecessarily knocked on our door twice whilst I was changing as I ‘forgot to sign a form’ even though we confirmed we had paid for everything we had to and could to our room. Every time we left our room or the SHARED bathroom (gross by the way) he would always be outside asking what are we doing. It felt like we were being watched/listened to constantly. We even BARRICADED OUR DOOR shut as I feared someone might enter during the night. But we didn’t even stay the night as the walls are made of paper. Could hear the TV in reception, the people upstairs, the manager shouting outside our door to other guests. This man was not made to be a host. We left 2 hours after checking in. No one book this place. Pay extra and get what you pay for.

Don't go the staff Shaz was rude and he told me he hnmmm someones Mrs n he's staff wtf
