11th July, Children running about, unsupervised in the bar.. Spoils enjoyment of a otherwise very good hotel. Stayed here many times, always happy, good priced, convenient for airport, shuttle ( for a charge) reasonable.

Accessible Guide for wheelchair/scooter users
Hotel Review
Name of Hotel - Airport Inn Manchester (Britannia Hotels - 3*)
Address - Wood Lane, Wilmslow, SK9 4LR
Date visited - 17th June 2026
Please note - We are trying to provide an overview for travellers with wheelchair accessibility needs.
Check-in/out -
There is a ramp leading to the hotel for wheelchair users. There are only two disabled parking spaces. Both were in use.
It was a very easy check-in process. The staff were very friendly. You need to register your car so you’re not charged for overnight parking.
Getting to/leaving the room -
There were no accessible rooms available, but we were on the ground floor.
Room/Suite, etc -
The room was basic, but it’s all we needed for the night. There was a kettle and bits for tea and coffee.
Ease of getting in and out in a wheelchair -
The door was narrow, and there was a hallway to navigate to get to the bed. Mick had to be careful steering his wheelchair into the room.
Room for the wheelchair and luggage -
There was limited room for the wheelchair. We put the luggage in the corner of the room. It was very cramped but manageable for one night
Bathroom -
The bathroom had a bath, not a shower. There was nowhere to put any toiletries, including toothbrushes and toothpaste.
Facilities
WiFi - Free
Swimming Pool - We didn’t use or look at this, so we cannot comment
Gym - As above
Breakfast area - As above
Lifts - As above
Restaurant - We ate at the bar. Mick had soup and fresh bread, and I had salmon Caesar salad. Later, we shared a pizza. The prices were on par for a hotel.
**** They do have a great deal that you can select when making your booking. 3-course select menu for £20 pp. We wish we had selected this ****
Overall impression
This is a great hotel if you’re staying over before a flight. It’s very reasonably priced and is clean and tidy. The rooms are very basic, but have everything you need. The staff are friendly and helpful.
Accessibility rating - 3
We have given this rating as it was quite hard to get in and out of the room in a wheelchair. However, this was not a fully accessible room. The bathroom was not suitable for a wheelchair user. The bar area was easier to get around. Staff made sure that chairs were moved so Mick could get around more easily. The disabled toilet door was hard to open
Overall rating - 4
This is a great value hotel for a stay before your holiday. It’s basic, but clean, and the staff are helpful. We would recommend trying to get an accessible room if you have a large wheelchair/scooter.

Fantastic 2 night stay at this hotel, car parking plentiful but busy. Check-in was straightforward and friendly and our room, a family room was well equipped and well-maintained. It included hairdryer, fridge and ironing facilities which were welcomed. Yes, there was a little noise when the windows were open from the airport but nothing to note when they were closed. We had dinner in the bar and drinks and breakfast in the restaurant all of which were great, staff were friendly and really helpful. Britannia Hotels get a lot of criticism but completely unjustified here in my opinion. Thanks for a lovely weekend stay.
