Midland Hotel Manchester

Absolutely gorgeous hotel. They upgraded our room. Because it was my husband's birthday the staff are all so welcoming & dressed smart. The lady who served us all night which I can't remember her name was so good took time to talk to us even with her being busy.The room was comfortable clean white sheets tea & coffee even an iron & board and clean white dressings gowns Breakfast was so tasty. All the staff work really good together all look proud to work at the Midlands there a Credit to the hotel. Well done everyone 👏

We stayed at The Midland Hotel to celebrate my 31st birthday, so we were really looking forward to a special night away. Unfortunately, our experience didn't live up to expectations. When we arrived, the lights in our room weren't working. A member of staff came to fix the issue, but after we returned to the room around an hour later, they had stopped working again. We were then moved to another room, but it was noticeably smaller than the room we had originally booked and paid for. Despite this, we were still charged the price of the larger room, which was disappointing. There were also issues with the Chromecast streaming on the TV. It wouldn't work because the TV was showing it was registered to Room 211, even though we were staying in Room 308, so we were unable to use the feature. When we checked out, we mentioned all of these issues to the staff. They apologised and said they would make a note of everything for future reference. We appreciated the complimentary bottle of Prosecco as a goodwill gesture, but considering we had paid £160 for the night and the number of issues we experienced, it didn't feel like adequate compensation. It's a shame because The Midland has an excellent reputation and we had chosen it specifically to celebrate a special occasion. While the staff we dealt with were polite and helpful, the overall experience was disappointing and not what we expected from a hotel of this standard.

The room was beautifully clean and tidy, its was fantastically decorated, facilities were excellent and the whole space just felt calm and friendly. The staff were attentive and kind, reception staff were courteous and kind (and special mention to Jared and Micah who were so kind and friendly and are an absolute credit to the hotel) The bar and tea room staff were attentive, knowledgeable and kind and it was a wonderful atmosphere, 10/10! I would 100% recommend staying here any day and I hope to return!
