Quality Hotel Stoke on Trent

Don't judge a book by it's cover. Have had a really great stay here over last couple of days, Kyle in the bar and the lady on reception (apologies didn't get your name if you read this!) provided great service at checkin and in the bar both nights. Hotel room was clean (currently undergoing renovations) and bed was comfy. Food was delicious and in my opinion good value for money. Noise level was no issue at all, with a great atmosphere in the hotel (peaceful at the time of writing)

Nice greeting but that was about it, Room was poorly decorated even though it was supposed to be just done, eg painted over rotten wood stains in carpets ,shower wouldn't move up and down, tiles had holes in where previous items were fitted , plumbing was noisy kept us awake all night and my biggest concern was the water was warm and taps were scaled up absolut perfect condition for legionella to breed, Hot breakfast was cold and we both had tummy upsets while we stayed tbh feel like calling Environmental health over the condition, I complained and they offered me a 20% discount for my next stay , TBH im not going back, Compaired to other BW hotels ive been in its the worst one by far

I booked this stay as "pay on arrival" but they actually took the money off my card 4 days before i stayed, when i phoned to query this i was told it was an overzealous member of the night team who had taken payment too early and a refund wouldnt hit my account until after my stay anyway, the actual stay itself was ok, the room was a good standard and clean, the staff were friendly, as a wheelchair user it was a bit of a pain having to phone reception to be let in the basement entrance every time i got back to the hotel as they didnt answer the bell, i do understand that this entrance cant be left open for security, but maybe a system where it can be accessed with a room key or even a video entry system would be better. The breakfast was adequate, the staff member was very friendly but the sausage black pudding and bacon were very dry as they were under the heat lamp far too long
