Statham Lodge Hotel

We booked this hotel for a relaxing stay whilst visiting friends in the area. I’ll start with the good points, grounds and hotel are beautiful, loved the character and little stories in the hotel telling you of its history! Staff were friendly and welcoming, parking plentiful. The bed in our room was large and comfy, very clean and fresh and the room was warm enough and the water pressure was fabulous which made for a lovely shower! The room was clean and we had bottled water, drink facilities and biscuits. Points we didn’t like… the room decor was tatty with scuffs marks on walls and not just low down mid height also. The walls are paper thin you hear everything, we could hear people taking showers in their bathrooms and water running and corridor noise. The room was tiny and dint even have a mirror in the room so when you did your makeup or wanted to use the hair dryer the only mirror was in the bathroom. A full length mirror would have been helpful when getting ready to go out. Bedside lamp was dodgy turned on flickered then went off then worked if you nudged it. Breakfast was ok, the cold buffet was plentiful but then we ordered a full English we asked for well done bacon and eggs but the bacon was done on one side and pale on the other and the fried eggs were quite oily. Wasn’t keen on the sausage maybe this was preference it looked good quality but wasn’t cooked enough and really pale inside. We tried to do toast which took forever and gave up as our cooked breakfast was going cold. It wasn’t a great experience at all. When we went back to our room after breakfast we were also met with a barrage of cleaning trolleys blocking the aisles to get to our room. Nothing against the cleaners but they should be mindful of guests walking around the corridors. Would we stay again, no such a shame though as we loved the building it was beautiful inside and out!

Stayed here with my husband had the pleasure of meeting the owner Georgina who was lovely. We had lovely conversation about the property. Room was great, food outstanding would most definitely stay again.

My wife and I visited the Lymm area last week and stayed at the Statham Lodge Hotel for 7 nights. The hotel was just as advertised, and perhaps a bit better. The room was great (we were in the Byron Suite)..immaculately clean, excellent wi-fi and stocked with bottle water, coffee and biscuits. We had breakfast every morning in the lobby enjoying the cold buffet on mostly. Well stocked with fruit, cereal, pastries, toast and coffee. I prefer light breakfasts and this was perfect! A special thanks to the woman who running the breakfast area ( unfortunately I don’t recall her name). She was friendly and helpful and we looked forward to welcome each morning. Front desk was helpful and all requests were managed quickly and professionally. Because we have family in the area, we will likely be back and look forward to our stay next time.
