I am glad I didn't go during the heatwave because you have to close the windows as you're so close to the airport, and the fan provided was not effective. Not only was there airport noise but there must have been a generator close to my room because I could hear a hum when I put my ear on the pillow. I'm not sure that my room had been hoovered, and it was generally dated with dusty door thresholds and a bit of grout mold in the bathroom. I decided to have a bath and regretted it because it smelled damp when I tried to relax. Parking is good and secure. The bed was good quality and the pillows were excellent, well above average. There were plentiful towels and they were clean and fresh, as was the bed linen. They have fitted heavy curtains, perhaps because of the airport noise, and these also serve to keep light out. The room was a good size and although there was light coming under the door from the corridor the room was dark enough. Wouldn't it save money not to burn lights all night? The public rooms have charisma and I liked the bulldog theme dotted around. I had a fairly good fish and chips, and breakfast was a slightly sweaty buffet with damp hash browns thanks to the steam-inducing domes. The staff throughout my stay were friendly and efficient.

The whole experience was very good. The rooms were excellent. The facilities were great from both the overall environment and the hotel in general. The food quality was great and all the staff were pleasant and efficient. I live quite near to the hotel and had visited the restaurant previously for meals but my colleagues from elsewhere in the UK and Europe enjoyed their stay a lot. There are also lots of good bars and restaurants nearby and Manchester Airport is not far away (approx 15min taxi ride). I would unreservadly reccomend the hotel for both business and leisure visits.
