CROWNE PLAZA AIRPORT

Service was poor in this great old building. Nice conversion and stylish. However every people interaction was off. As we are checking in for a room with a/c on 3rd hottest day of year we are told it’s broken. No partial refund/ free iced drink at bar just tough luck. They got reservation wrong but sorted. Reception clearly flustered as everyone was disappointed. Next dinner in the bar that night. Ordered 2 Fish n Chips. One side salad. Waited 50 mins and came. As usual waitress asked if we would like any sauces - yes please some vinegar nice ( traditional) - no sign of it luckily didn’t wait as wife finished hers when side salad turned up. No vinegar. Useless. The people at table next to us sent their food back so not just us apparently. Breakfast was ok but smaller batches of eggs cooked maybe. Usual 20 fried eggs been there so long they are rock solid. Many items ran out. Just poor attention to detail. The worst part yet was checking out this morning. The taps in the bathroom are stylish 1920 deco design. However the chrome on hot tap in our room 263 was peeling off and a sharp bit cut my finger. 1.5 cm but not deep. Anyhow I went to check out and waited 10 mins for front desk to appear. When I told the guy he couldn’t have been less bothered. Talk about a lack of customer service ethos or skills. I said let maintenance know so nobody else gets cut. I would expect zip has happened. Overall a real shame. I liked the quirky building and interesting styling. The place was very clean and the glassware was spotless. Well done cleaners. Fix the AC!! Change the tap!! Remind staff about customer service. Sack the manager(s) who let it get into this state. Refund the side salad and a no AC ££ gesture for an IHG member who was very disappointed. Mr Mrs S&G Williams

We stayed here with our coach party for a bed, breakfast and evening meal. The rooms were tired and the room we had no fridge/cooler. We were supposed to have biscuits and water, I had to go to reception and let them know that these had not been left. The cooler never did appear but the water and biscuits did. During the night after we had got to bed, just as I was drifting of to sleep, there was a knock on the door, there stood a young woman who told me that I had made a phone call regarding a hairdryer, I told her that it wasn't me as we did not have a telephone in the room and that she had just woken me up. The meals were not as we had hoped, fish cooked to an inch of it's life, dry and hard, the vegetables were the kind that you find in Iceland, a mixed bag. The chicken and mushroom pie that I ordered I couldn't eat, when I cut it open it was less chicken and mushroom and more slime. The meals I must say were not what we expected from a "4 star" hotel and to top it off, our friend on the last night ordered a lemon sorbet, which turned out to be a lemon tart with custard. I am glad in a way that we didn't have a telephone, because the exercise I got going up and down to reception every day was a great. Our poor coach driver one morning apologized about the hotel, the coach company had stayed there before some years ago and it had been great. in the morning at breakfast no staff were available to keep an eye on the food, you had to keep asking for items because fried food had run out. I could go on, but speaking to other guests who had stayed there before also said the same, it was great when they had stayed before but now it was like "Faulty Towers"

Stayed at this hotel 10 to the 11 august 2026 had a great stay here. rooms were clean and beds were so comfortable would highly recommend so convenient for the airport. 4 minutes drive to your terminal. Unfortunately or flight got cancelled.but still had a great night here staff were excellent
