Ibis Liverpool City Centre

I have stayed here before with my husband and enjoyed it, unfortunately this stay was a bit of a disappointment! Firstly we had a twin room for my daughter and myself.. the beds were pushed tight together and we could literally just walk around the beds one at a time. The aircon wasn’t working so asked for someone to look at it because the room was so hot. It was on by the time we got back but I think the unit was too powerful for the tiny room because it was either absolutely boiling or ridiculously cold no matter what setting we put it on! We were on the ground floor so didn’t feel we could leave the window open! Also our key card stopped working twice and we were only there for 2 nights! But the two members of reception staff we came into contact with were very helpful and polite especially the young man. It’s a great location for exploring Liverpool city centre and the Docks.

Perfect location! Staff very friendly and helpful at front desk. Just across the road from the Albert Dock and a short walk away from Matthew street, Liverpool One and Consert Square. Room was comfortable and clean. Expensive for what it is although I do appreciate that it is a city central hotel! Pay for parking when booking and be aware that you have to press the button at the barrier to inform reception upon leaving the car park at the end of your stay because if you enter your registration it will try to charge you for parking even if you’ve already paid. Parking is also limited. Sorry to say but the breakfast was absolutely awful and not hot. I’m not a fussy eater and had breakfast there more due to convenience after the first night but I regretted it as I found out there are a couple of cafes that do a lovely breakfast on the dock across the road.

Ridiculously overpriced room, it was dirty, sheets definitely hadn't been changed, room hadn't been vacuumed, me and my wife were expecting the usual friendly welcome from Liverpudlian staff, that was non existent. Would not recommend. We changed to Premier Inn on Moorfields, they were absolutely fantastic, amazing staff, extremely friendly and helpful. Avoid Ibis and save your pennies for somewhere more enjoyable.
