May's House

Absolutely awful stay. Wasn't suitable for 5 of us as advertised. Sofa beds were very uncomfortable and kids really struggled. Thin blanket for the leather sofa bed was all that was provided. One spare quilt stuffed in a cupboard with stains. Plates and glasses were dirty. And rubbish left from previous guests on the floors. Curtains hanging on by threads. Marks all over the walls. Stains and dents. Walls are stick thin. We were places under a group of people partying amthough they advertise after 11 they dont allow this, it isnt really policed or policies followed. We had loud noises from 1am up until 6am of them jumping and partying with blaring music. To be fair the security guard warned them after my partner went out to have a word himself. But this didn't stop them. Honestly by far the worst accommodation I've ever been to. The mattress springs were gone and half the mattress sloped. Hair dryer didnt work. We would have turned a blind eye to some of this usually but all of it added up and when you're paying £260 you don't expect half of this. I have since raised a complaint and looking to have this investigated further as this is not a place for families especially kids, being frightened awake early hours of the morning and being unable to use hardly anything in the room due to cleanliness isn't acceptable.

Firstly we were very disappointed and I can only say that referring apartment 2 as luxury is a little misleading. Although I would imagine that they were finished well when built our unit was tired and the furnishings basic. The kitchen is under equipped and the oven only houses the grill pan so impossible to even cook a frozen pizza on arrival but I get the impression that they don’t want guests using the kitchen other than for breakfast or a quick microwave meal. The beds had no mattress protectors/ under blankets on either of them. The property is extremely noisy and although they claim to be on top of noisy guests, there is no or very little sound insulation between the floors and you can hear squeaking floorboards and footsteps above your head and the banging shut of cupboard doors. There is a gap under the front door and you can hear the closing of everyone else’s apartment doors. We booked for five nights but left after the first night there. The guests above returned late that evening after I assume drinking at the nearby bars , they were extremely noisy with stomping feet, banging doors, loud laughter and what sounded like occasional falling over, this went on until gone midnight and then they were up again crashing about at 5.30am! We did try to find the night security guard but we arrived on a Sunday and were sent the door codes so wasn’t sure exactly which door downstairs was the office as this isn’t marked as the reception when the door is closed. We were fortunate enough to be able to book elsewhere for the remainder of our stay but not happy with the extra expense we had to pay out! I would warn anyone who enjoys a good night sleep or who is a light sleeper to avoid Mill street apartments. However in fairness it is only a 20 minute walk to the city centre and just minutes away from the pubs, clubs and nightlife of the Baltic triangle area if that’s what you are looking to enjoy.

We booked this property as we really liked the images we came across, When we got outside we didn't have an issue gaining access. As not from the area we asked the reception lady weres local and she was very helpful. Only issues we faced was. We stated 2 children 11 and 15months we was placed second floor number 8 there's no catches on the window to prevent anyone fallen out which is an safety issue. Hair in microwave and cooker, few cobwebs in the shower area, apartment there is stained coffee on the floors. Splash marks all over walls and also hole below the tele which my 15 month old could touch. Bedrooms lovely and clean really comfy beds. Sofa beds again really comfy. Could do with having air con or a fan as the room got really hot early hours. On a whole It was a lovely stay. Thank you
