A get what you pay for experience. Used this as a place to stay after a concert so spent very little time at Royal Chambers. The room itself was clean but the hostel itself was dated. Room keys were quite fiddly so took some repeated attempts and wiggling to get into the room. The lady who worked there was really kind and friendly, you could tell she was going out of her way to provide a great service. The shared bathroom closest to our room was dated and could benefit from paper towels to stop you needing to take a bath towel when you go to the bathroom. The shared kitchen was clean and well stocked with glasses. The accommodation was fit for purpose. Location was good, 15 minute walk to the city centre.

I stayed at Royal Chambers Hostel Liverpool on 14/2/26 for just one night. From the outside the building looks shabby and off putting but inside it is ok. I did notice a smell of petrol fumes on the ground floor when I came in! I was greeted warmly by a lovely lady on reception and the booking in process was simple. Make sure you have photo ID as this is a requirement of booking in. My room, or ‘Flat’ was on the first floor and word of note, there are no lifts so if you are on the 3rd floor good luck. My Flat was warm, clean and ideal for one night. There is no en suite but I had a shared toilet and bathroom outside of my door; both of which were spotlessly clean upon inspection. I have to admit that everywhere was clean and tidy, and you can see that renovations are taking place. I had everything I needed in my room for a one night stay and bedding was clean with a towel and hot drinks. Unfortunately no spoon with the tea/coffee to stir my cup!
I would suggest an upgrade in mattress for the future as the one I had was very springy and load every time I moved; even uncomfortable at times. There is some noise from other guests coming in and something I didn’t expect to be woken up by was a washing machine or tumble dryer at 4am above my room. Either limit the time they can be used or supply ear plugs. There is parking behind the Hostel which is reasonably priced and the City Centre is a short 15 minutes walk away. This is definitely not The Ritz, but it’s also not The Pits; work looks like it’s ongoing to improve things and that takes time and money. All in all it was an ok stay and met my needs for one night.

I had a fantastic stay at this hotel, largely thanks to the friendly staff and quiet environment. They made the check-in process quick and pleasant.
The room itself was exactly what I needed: clean, comfortable, and well-maintained
The hotel's location is huge plus, being a short walk from the heart of Liverpool city centre and all its attractions. For the price I paid, the value was exceptional.
