The Scarisbrick

Receptionist greeted us with the worst attitude ever. Hotel lobby and outside was full of people drunk and young men walking about in pyjamas. When entered the room it stunk and no tv working. Spoke to rude receptionist, who couldnt move us as said there were no other rooms, when another staff member said there was. In the lift down we were approached by a drunken lady who was looking for a fight. We couldnt stay there due to all the things wrong and just left within 10 minutes of arriving. Would not recommend at all.

Scarisbrick Hotel is nicely located on Lord Street in central Southport but the hotel itself is actually very shabby. Our room, or actually called suite, was in no way up to expectations with dirty windows, curtains and lampshades. The wifi didn't work at all and the noice from the surrounding night clubs was horrible, especially as the rotte window was not possible to close. This hotel may well have been a nice place, say 20-30 years from now. Today it is only a depressing and tragic reminiscence of a glorious past and in no way worth the money. Another proof on this is the very messy and totally unprofessional check-in procedure. The only positive thing during this visit was the breakfast which actually was quite nice.

Absolute Dive. I won’t waste more then a few words on this place but they should be shut down the hygiene standards in this place will make you ill. Please read other reviews and listen! Smells, is disgustingly dirty, awful rude staff, stains, dirt, marks and damage everywhere. Don’t think they have a cleaner on their payroll You’ll catch something at this place it’s worse than I imagine a homeless hostel would be. Think dust everywhere, door numbers missing Infact the streets would probably be cleaner.
