Abcorn Guest House

Have just returned from a fantastic 2 days stay at the Abcorn Guest house. I drove to Edinburgh so it's great that this guest house has its own car park - guest house itself is very easy to find on main road into Edinburgh from the South. Very easy to get into Edinburgh tourist spots by bus - takes about 5 minutes and only costs £2. Abcorn House itself was great value - nice clean room, great breakfast, friendly helpful staff. Would recommend staying here. Ps had nice meal in Old Bell pub just round the corner.

As I am often in bussines travel, I choosed this time to stay here. Unfortunatly it was a really bad experience, I had to change the hotel late in the night. There is no option to pay here only cash, lthis is not an option for bussines trips when you need an inovice on company card. The manager does not have a profesional attidude. I would not recomend at all. For same price there are much better acomodations in to the city.

I can honestly say that this is definitely one of my favourite Bed & Breakfasts in Edinburgh. From the moment I arrived I was greeted with a warm welcome by the Manager who took my case upstairs, offered me a hairdryer which I gratefully accepted and also a map of Edinburgh. I already know my way around as I used to be a resident here but he was so very kind and informative. I was in Room Number 7 which is a single room with limited floor space - I was aware of this before I booked so it wasn’t a surprise. Although the room was small, it is ideal for a single person and had everything that I required. The bed was comfortable, the sheets and towels were clean and shower gel, soap and shampoo is also there for the guests use. A kettle, Tea, Coffee and Biscuits were also in the room and were replenished daily. The room was so clean as was the rest of the building. The bed was incredibly comfortable. The rooms are cleaned daily and the breakfast is amazing. The cooked breakfast is awesome and it was such a pleasure talking to the Manager who is probably one of the nicest people I have ever met in my life. Service levels are outstanding. The price I paid was also excellent value for money. Thank you for making my trip a memorable one. I would definitely recommend and return without question.
