This may be the best hotel I've ever stayed in. It is absolutely beautiful in an old manor way. It is walking distance to the castle, easy walk or ride to the train station. The staff are excellent and so, so helpful. The room was great - a nice size, comfortable, with a modern bathroom. And without having to pay for extra spa services, you have access to a great hotel gym, an indoor pool and hot tub, AND and a steam room and sauna. After a long day of walking all over the city, getting a nice swim or sauna experience is the best. Expensive? For me, yes. But if I return to Edinburgh, this will be the first place I look at.
