Castle Park Guest House

The friendliness and attention to detail from David and Ian were priceless, and really added to my stay. From the warm welcome on arrival, through breakfast and advice on getting around, to helping me with my broken suitcase, they were always happy to help, and always with a smile. The house is pristine, full of original character and details, and has a wonderful “home away from home” feeling, which is exactly what I look for in a guest house. The bed was extremely comfortable, and I really appreciated the complimentary water, tea and coffee provided in the room, that was spotless clean. There was also a wider selection of teas, drinks and fresh food available downstairs in the living room, which added to that lovely feeling of being welcomed into someone’s home. Breakfast is an absolute must: everything is fresh, homemade and delicious. The location isn’t right in the city centre, but I found it extremely easy to walk to the main sights. There is also a bus stop directly in front of the house, which was perfect whenever I wanted to take it easy. Overall, a wonderful stay, made particularly special by the warmth and care of David and Ian. I would happily stay here again. For future travellers, just keep in mind that the rooms are on the upper floors, so there are some stairs to climb (although they are wide and easy to manage). Also, luggage storage may be limited depending on when someone is at the house, as this is a guest house rather than a hotel with a 24-hour reception.

We had a wonderful stay at Castle Park Guest House and honestly couldn’t have asked for a better experience. From the very first moment, we felt genuinely welcomed and cared for. Ian and David were incredibly kind, warm and helpful, and their hospitality made our stay feel truly special. It was clear that they pay attention to every little detail, creating a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere that made us feel at home from the beginning. The guest house was clean, warm and comfortable, and our room was quiet and peaceful. The breakfast was also delicious and with many options to choose in advance. Everything was beautifully looked after. Everything is within walking distance and there are 2 bus stops right outside’s the guesthouse making the location a perfect option to be close to the city centre but also in a quiet and safe neighbourhood. A huge thank you to Ian and David for their kindness and for making our stay in Edinburgh so lovely and memorable. We would absolutely love to visit again and happily stay at Castle Park Guest House.
