Counan Guest House

I booked and stayed at this establishment for 3 nights with my husband and 2 small children. We new that it was a basic Guest house but at least expected it to be clean and safe. 1. Security- The main front door is constantly left open with only an inner glass door that you're given a key for to let yourselves in and out. The owners live across the street so there isn't anyone on site in case of an emergency, you have to take yourself to their other building to find them! The lock on our door jammed and my husband was asked to force the lock by using his body weight to nudge the door open, we were then not offered another 'secure' room but told a lock Smith would be rang the day after. 2. Cleanliness - The room was dirty, unkept and warn. The headboards (with no standing frame) were missing screws that should have attached them to the wall and just propped against the bed, they were loose wires hanging down from the walls and old warn mismatch furniture. The ensuite bathroom was awful, huge holes in the wall, discoloured celling, holes in shower cubicle, both shower and bathroom floor were dirty and unclean. Would not suggest to anyone to stay here.

DO NOT STAY HERE!! This was awful and one of the worst places I have stayed and I have stayed in some rubbish places. This was so run dow and full of old furniture, broken and mismatch items, the bathroom has old broken rusty metal in the shower and because of this we left without showering. It looks like it hasn't been updated or cleaned for about 50 years, and this is not an exaggeration. Walls are so thin you can hear absolutely everything from all the rooms.Please pay the extra and go somewhere else, it's not worth the money.

I have a couple of remarks regarding this guest house. 1. When arriving to check-in we were requested to go to the house across the street from the guest house in order to be checked-in by the staff. 2. We were shown to a room in the basement that was in brief: Disgusting!!! The floor was freezing cold, the room was very dirty and bedbugs were crawling in the bedding. Furthermore, the staff didn't seem surprised about the bedbugs and happily gave us a refund. So, in the middle of the night we were out one the street looking for another accommodation. I cannot stress it enough - DO NOT BOOK THIS ACCOMMODATION! Ps. for the same price, it's possible to find way better hotels.
