What a wonderful experience I had staying at the Granville Guest House. A very warm welcome, a pristine room along with a super breakfast to start the day!! Located 20 minutes walk from the city centre or by bus from outside the front door it is an ideal base for a long week end. A big "thank you" to Latif and his family for looking after me, all of whom could not have do enough for me - it is appreciated and I will be back for a second visit.

This was an excellent location for us to visit family and a bus stop outside to get to centre for castle & shops. Good cinema & restaurants and take away within walking distance. Owner very friendly. Breakfast was ok but disappointed after asking for white bread on day 1 that no white bread ever appeared over 4 mornings also orange juice warm but the rest of the breakfast was very nice & hot. Twin beds were 2ft 6 but very comfy and I slept very well. Worst point was you had to have kettle on the floor in a plug that was hard to reach under a radiator and kettle was far too small for 2 people had to boil it twice but I did complain about this and owner said they are having a refurb in November and this will be changed

We booked a stay here for 3 nights during Edinburgh Fringe. Not the cheapest B&B but we know prices rocket during the Fringe, so it seemed a reasonable Fringe price. Our room was on the 2nd floor up 2 spiral staircases which were a bit of a challenge for me. Room quite small compared to other B&Bs we've stayed in but had a lovely view over the city and towards Leith. There were a few minor issues with the shower, sink plug and the small kettle but nothing major. Very noisy fan when we put the light on in the bathroom, but too dark to manage without the light. A bin would have been nice in the room. Very friendly owner and good breakfast, although once again not as much choice as we have had elsewhere. On bus route into Edinburgh but worth noting that buses were very rare in the evenings especially on the way back, so we had to do a lot more walking than we would have liked.
