Grassmarket

Really great (even fancy) location — 15 minutes from the rail station, close to the main sightseeing places The staff at the reception was really friendly and helpful — we asked for the second blanket and then decided to extend our stay by 1 more day. Both of the requests were fulfilled in less than half an hour The room is really small but actually gives a cozy atmosphere. Would like to have more shelves to put my stuff on but otherwise it’s great. Room was clean and tidy when we arrived and after cleaning during the day Good breakfast, free coffee at the reception and tea-instant coffee-milk in the room So, overall, it’s pricy (mostly because of the location) but we had a fantastic time

I stayed at the Grassmarket Hotel for the second time July 4th-7th. Sadly the weather was cold and a bit rainy but the hotel was really nice. Young very helpful and friendly staff. The wifi this time around was a bit average which is important to me as i need a good connection for work. The room whilst small was clean reasonably well appointed with a comfortable bed although i had a single bed which wasnt ideal. This hotel really is in an iconic location - you walk out the front door and literally everything is in front of you. There is a pub connected to the hotel which has a good selection of beer and great pub food so thats a win as well. But there are a couple of downsides: wifi a bit “there one minute gone the next”, rooms are on the small side, and (in my case) the rooms are only made up occasionally which i thought was a but strange. But having said that, i love this hotel and ill be back!

Only positive is the location. Below average accomodation and rude and unfriendly staff. Totally overpriced for what is on offer. Would not recommend or return.
