Holiday Inn Express City

We had a pleasant stay a here for a family vacation in July. The woman who checked us in (I think her name was Yulia?) was wonderful and really set the tone for the stay so shout out to her! The room was small, but comfortable. I will say that although they advertise 4 people can fit in a room with a bed and sofa bed, the sofa bed is small. My kids are 8 and 10 and struggled sharing the space so if you have older kids it would be even more crowded. Breakfast was nice, better than what we typically experience in similar hotels but you’ll want to get there early to avoid crowds as the space is small and people seem to forget how to behave when there are a lot of people milling about. All hotel rates in the city were expensive and while I still find this one more expensive than necessary, the amazing location made it worth it!

Pros: * Unbeatable Location: Just an 8-minute walk to the train station and perfectly situated near both Old Town and New Town. * Comfort & Cleanliness: Spotless room with very comfortable beds. Small room for 3 but it is Ok for us * Perks: Generous breakfast included, plus free good coffee and water. * Staff: Excellent service—the personnel were very kind and helpful despite the hotel being full of guests. Cons / Notes: * Prices in the city are high overall, so while the hotel felt expensive, the rates are consistent with similar options in Edinburgh.

Overall, we had a very pleasant stay. The hotel was clean throughout, with friendly and welcoming staff who were always happy to help. The 24-hour reception and bar were a real bonus, and the amenities were very good. The location is excellent, especially if you're attending an event at Murrayfield Stadium, as it's within easy reach. Breakfast was enjoyable, with a good selection and everything we needed to start the day. However, we wouldn't recommend ordering from the main menu, as the evening food was disappointing and didn't match the standard of the rest of the hotel. Our room rate was noticeably inflated due to the Luke Combs concert, which is understandable during major events. At the hotel's usual prices, though, it offers very good value for money, and we'd definitely recommend staying here.
