On our trip through Scotland we were the first to book the Dalmahoy hotel and a round of golf. The arrival is a picture, exterior of the hotel looks fairytale. You will be warmly welcomed upon arrival. We had through an offer taken an upgrade of £50 per night. Then you expect a nice room with great facilities. The room was also nice and very spacious. Unfortunately we looked out, on the roofs of the other lodgings. He was also on the 2nd floor without a lift. We ate the arrival day at the restaurant and this one was good. Service is nice, attentive and fun. Next morning there appeared to be a minimal jet of water coming out of the shower. Breakfast was fine, but busy due to an event on the golf course. But everything was there. 2nd day we went golfing on the beautiful East course of Dalmahoy. We had asked for 2 buggies and after a lot of talking we got 1. After returning from golf, the room was not cleaned. On departure the next day indicated, that the room was not cleaned and the shower gave very little water and I would receive another feedback from the manager. Conclusion: Nice hotel, expensive, and especially after the upgrade, for what you get. And drop them stitches. There are probably the same kind of hotels around that do keep their agreements. Too bad Dalmahoy.

We recently completed a family round-trip through the UK and spent five nights at Dalmahoy Hotel & Country Club. The property is truly impressive—set within beautifully maintained grounds, with a striking historic exterior and sweeping green landscapes that immediately create a sense of arrival and calm. We stayed in a Deluxe room with a king bed, a comfortable seating area, and floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the estate. Waking up each morning to those peaceful, uninterrupted views of the grounds was a highlight of the stay in itself. During our visit, we also had the pleasure of witnessing a traditional Scottish wedding on-site, complete with kilts and elegant formal attire. It was a memorable cultural moment that added an extra layer of charm to an already special stay. Service throughout was consistently excellent. From reception and reservations to the restaurant staff, everyone we encountered was professional, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. Despite its tranquil, tucked-away location, the hotel is well equipped with everything needed for a comfortable and relaxing stay. Overall, our time at Dalmahoy was outstanding and stands out as one of the highlights of our UK trip. We would not hesitate to return.

I was part of a group booking of over 20. Allocated rooms were inconsistent, some better than others. Menu choices for 1st night's dinner pre- chosen and really lovely. 2nd and 3rd night were given to me on a Saturday evening to be chosen by lunchtime that same day!! An impossible task to circulate to all the group. We ended up with a set menu not ideal and had to insist for a vegetarian option to be made available for 2 of our group. A special diet requested well in advance refused so they had to make do! The waiter we had was marvellous but to have the same desert for 2 evenings out of 3 and a lack of choice , not acceptable. Would not recommend for group bookings !!
