MW Townhouse

The room was okay, slightly cold on the first night as the radiator is tiny. Bathroom was down the hallway and the lights where on sensors, Siri the night it was like crystal maze, trying to unlock the door before the lights went off and you where left stranded in darkness. Nice place to stay and the staff where nice, just a few little things that weren’t so great

We stayed here six nights while in Edinburgh for the Festival. We chose MW Townhouse because it has parking on-site and is 20-30 minutes walk from centre of town. Our room was quite spacious; in good decorative order (especially if you like purple); plenty of storage; effective sound proofing from the double glazing; large comfortable bed; clean. However this is a purely commercial establishment, the owner does not live on-site, and some guests would not see him at all (although his contact number is made clear). There are no personal touches such as tissues or mineral water; toiletries were minimal; no safe. We would have expected better for a 4-star establishment at the price we paid. We did not try the breakfast since this was extra.

We stayed roughly a week and enjoyed our stay. You get all the facilities needed and you can find a tv, boiler, tea and coffee ec in your room. You get what you pay for though. The walk into town is not to long and is easily done. You can find buses for everywhere across the street which is helpful. Not to noisy, friendly and helpful staff. You have parking lots if needed for car. I liked it, the room was good and clean and you really do only sleep there anyway. We did one mornign try the breakfast and maybe that was a little bit boring for the money we paid. But if I need to meniton anything is that the blankets in the bed and the pillows where really small and thin. The pillow can't be a real pillow! But otherwise we can't complain on anything else. It's a really cute little buildning in a good area. I would go there again if I would go back and would recomend for people who don't need the fancy hotel experience. I'm pleased and thankful for our stay there!
