Sugarhouse Close

This is student accommodation (poor students), some years ago I came to the fringe and stayed in other student accommodation. Which was brilliant, I thought this would be as good, I was wrong. The place is not maintained to any standard, and to say students are living there and paying good money for the privlage is disgraceful. The room we had was loud, it was like it was next to a plant room, with all sorts of whirring noises My husband, who can sleep through just about anything, gave up at about 1.30 and went to speak to the staff. The staff member argued that it was other guests, my husband asked him to come listen, he did agree it was loud, he said he thought it was the room above and would go check. After about 45 minutes the guy hadn't come back and the noise hadn't stopped. We found him back at reception, he said he would speak to maintenance about it on Monday morning. This was the early hours of Sunday, so we eventually passed out at about 3am, after booking somewhere else to stay. It is not worth the money, it is small and uncomfortable, and I can't believe students live here!

Location is good. Rooms clean. Beds are rock hard. But the worst thing is the kitchen, you can not even get the water to boil on the stove. I feel sorry for the students that live here during study.

We booked via booking.com and this “hotel” was advertised as a spacious suite when we arrived we realized it was a dorm room. The room had a twin bed which took up 95% of the room (impossible for two adults to fit) no blankets, one towel and a small bar of soap, no AC. The staff was very nice and they understood that we had to leave. We had to book a last minute room at an actual hotel and lost most of our day trying to find a suitable place. Our party of 6 had to split up and move to three different hotels because of limited availability last-minute. This is suitable for a college student or someone backpacking but not what we were expecting based on what was described and pictured via booking.com. We will be seeking a refund as we did not stay here but booking.com will likely give us the runaround.
