Had a nice couple of nights at The Lifeboat and the staff were ultra friendly and helpful. The room was nice and clean, but the bed was smaller than we expected for a King size and the mattress did feel a little tired. The bathroom was very nice.
The worst thing for us was all the dogs - dogs everywhere! I actually do like dogs, but it was too much.
We pre booked a table on our first night and were really disappointed. We were seated in the conservatory right next to the kitchen, at a lower level than the table right next to us on our left, so our eye level was at their feet level. They had a large shaggy dog, which kept moving around right next to my head, so I had a shaggy tail and a dog’s backside right next to where I was sitting. I asked to move, but was told there were no other available tables. Not a pleasant experience and we didn’t eat at The Lifeboat on our second night.
It would be a good idea to offer a dog-free zone for those who don’t have a dog.
