The Grove

This is difficult to write because I generally don't like leaving negative reviews, and whilst this isn't totally negative, I would have preferred to have had a better experience. I stayed in the sunburst room and on first glance, everything seemed clean. But without looking for specific issues, it was hard not to notice a few things. Firstly, the tv was on the wall on an adjustable bracket. When I moved the tv to an angle suitable for viewing, I noticed that the back of the tv and bracket was thick with dust. This wasn't just a week worth of dust but several weeks/months. There was also a similar issue with the heater in the room, there was a lot of dust on the top which was easy to see and get to. Secondly, in the bathroom, the bath had various scratches where the shower door had clearly made them. I realised that it would take a new bath to repair this but there was also an issue with the folding shower door, where it was very dirty and rusty looking at the base of the shower door. This could/should have been cleaned better as it didn't need to look as bad as it did and should be replaced in the long run. Thirdly, I had a large bed (which was two single beds together (not an issue)) and these were divan's. Whilst sitting on the sofa in the room, it was hard not to notice the terrible stanning at the base of the divans where I can only assume have got wet whilst cleaning the floor with a mop. Unfortunately, the mop must have had dirty water and the residue has left a terrible stain. This doesn't give the best impression for cleanliness and I didn't look at the rest of the bed (like they do on four in a bed) through fear of finding more issues. I did mention all these to a member of staff when leaving as feedback but I really didn't get the impression that it was taken that seriously and that is why I'm leaving this review. On a more positive note, the breakfast was very nice and service was very attentive. To be fair the majority of staff I interacted with was polite and professional. For the price of the room, I didn't expect to find the issues that I did and that is disappointing. I hope by leaving this review that the things mentioned will be addressed. It seems a nice place and I genuinely think it could be an amazing place.

We had the best time with all the family. 2 in the hotel, 5 in a yurt and we stayed in the amazing Shepards lodge! Had a fab meal in the beautiful and twinkling sundown. Played table tennis enjoyed the hot tub… couldn’t ask for anything else even the sun came out! Such a perfect position in Cromer. Walk for 5mins through those woods with a cup of tea, before anyone is awake and take in the awesome sea. One of the best views ever! We will be back!

A very pleasant stay in the Cottage. Excellent breakfasts. Wish I had known sooner that the yoghurt and fruit topping was fruit and not tomato juice. It is sublime. Service was quick and helpful. Nice people too.
