The Old Rectory

Our stay was peaceful and relaxing....just what we needed. Thank you Veronica for making us so welcome, we loved our comfortable room and the cake and tea when we arrived was a lovely touch. Jackie and Jason.

We stayed a few nights in the pretty (dog friendly) Earl and Countess rooms that are in a separate annex opposite the main house. Your neighbours are two horses in the stables and the swallows swooping overhead. What a wonderful peaceful place. You can walk across the fields to nearby Oxborough Hall - look out for the deer and hares. Veronica, the hostess, looks after you very well, greeting you with cake and tea - very welcome after a long drive. Breakfast taken in the main house is extensive and excellent. Note that the countess room has a bath but no shower (in case it's an issue for you - it wasn't for us) and that there is no 3G signal in the locality. There is wifi in the main house if you really must stay hooked up to your electronic devices but we would advise you to turn them off and just relax in the peace of a very lovely place.

I stayed at the Old Rectory with my nine year old and daughter and we were made to feel welcome from the moment we arrived. The property is in such a beautiful location and the only sounds to be heard at night were the Owls hooting - coming from a busy town, it was a treat not to hear any traffic! We were fortunate to enjoy gorgeous weather during our stay so made use of the outdoor swimming pool for some much needed refreshment. Breakfast was perfect on both mornings and although I opted for the full English each time, there were plenty of other options on offer. Darcey and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend this lovely B&B very highly.
