Great Hotel, friendly and welcoming with helpful staff. Book directly with the hotel, they offer better rates and free onsite parking (if not booked by them it is £6 per vehicle per 24hrs) Breakfast was good, we ate out for lunch & dinner. Comfortable good sized rooms, comfortable bed.

Loved this hotel. Easy walk into town, about 10 minutes. Staff extremely helpful. Asked for a quiet room, which they gave me. Everything was perfect. Room was large, as was the bathroom. All spotless. Would definitely stay again.

Lots of positives for this hotel, which is situated on a busy road, about 15 minutes walk from the town. My room, 18, was at the front of one of the two main buildings and I did shut the windows overnight, though my friend, in one of the annexes had no traffic noise. Maybe ask for a room away from the road? The hotel was very well cared for, very clean, and the furnishings all looked new. The garden is lovely and the atmosphere throughout feels homely and comfortable. Really lovely staff who do a great job of looking after us. Diana in the restaurant at breakfast needs a special mention, for her gold standard guest care! We had the inclusive breakfast, which was always delicious, beautifully served and with lots of individual choice and attention. The evening meals too were good; enough choice and an imaginative menu. If you like cheese, try the local cheeses on the cheeseboard, which were memorably lovely, with the maker's information available so you know all about them. My room was ok, had everything I needed and a comfortable bed. Maybe a bit old fashioned, with brown furniture and quite dull and on the small side, though the bathroom was huge, with a full size bath. Maybe a chair or small table in there would be good, as the places to put toiletries etc were limited. If you come by train, as we did, the station is a good 20 minutes walk from the hotel; we didn't investigate the buses, so that might be a better option if you're not a walker. Over all, a lovely stay with attentive and hard working stff.
