Marine Lodge

Ive just had my second stay at Marine Lodge and it was wonderful. A lovely location, Sparkling clean, the best staff and the Breakfast is the best you will ever taste. Roll on next September for my third stay.

Lovely friendly helpful staff. Yummy breakfast. Location nearby to beach, britannia pier, cinema and shops. Bus stop just outside the hotel. One day we got bus to hemsby. Good bus service. Lift. Room good. Sea view.

Great location close to Britannia Pier, Regent Road and The Waterways/Boating Lake. Ample parking available even in the height of Summer season. Lift access to most but not all floors. A member of our party was given a room behind the restaurant/bar toilets which is only accessible by stairs and was very challenging for an older person with a suitcase. Doors don’t have pull handles on the inside which makes it difficult to open as you have to pull on the Yale lock and they are heavy doors, again difficult for some guests. Lots of rooms have been refurbished, but not all. Family rooms really do need an upgrade, in particular with bathrooms and with fixtures and fittings. A lick of paint and a clean up in the main corridors would be welcomed too as they feel tired, worn and outdated. The lift is noisy and can be disruptive through the night so request a room away from the lift if you are a light sleeper. We would return in the future, if family rooms get a bit of attention and an upgrade. Good luck to the new management team, big shoes to fill but hopefully they’ll be able to offer the same level of consistent customer service.
