North West Castle

The first room we were allocated was very dated and incredibly hot for our wee baby girl. However, lady on reception was fantastic and moved us room, no questions asked to a lovely large modern room that had two windows we could open. We really appreciated that and breakfast was fantastic. Hot, delicious produce and service was great. Ideal for a stop over before getting the ferry. If all the rooms were to be updated this would be an excellent hotel.

Great location, easy parking. Nice staff on reception and breakfast service. Hotel is a little tired though needs a lot of maintenance and an overhaul, swimming pool in poor maintenance condition. To top it all a false fire alarm (which is welcome news, but equally a pain to be worked up, no apologies from staff at checkout) at 0100hrs.. Breakfast was good though.

I just want to say a big thank you to all the staff at North West Castle Hotel, you made our stay for our anniversary weekend a pleasure. The room was comfortable, clean and quiet (apart from the dogs in a room barking) which was dealt with quickly and professionally. All of the staff were pleasant, easy to talk to and very welcoming. The food was lovely and plentiful. I looked forward to breakfast each morning. The atmosphere is very relaxing, the sofa's in the bar/lounge are dangerous as you can easily fall asleep on them. Check-in and check-out was quick. Overall, the hotel is in a good position to explore the west coast of Scotland and great value for money.
