This had pretty much all we needed for an overnight stay heading south. Very close to M74. Set in extensive grounds in a country park- ideal as we had dogs with us. Got ground floor room at good rate by calling and booking direct. Spacious, big shower and quite tidy. No real scope for eating with dogs- but we were offered a settee in reception! As it was not at all warm were happy to leave dogs in car while we ate. Dinner good- special mention to Ash, a charming young man, who served us. Breakfast a bit chaotic. Wait for butter while food got cold, coffee machine tempermental and inadequate for relatively small numbers. Coffee not great. Staff all unfailingly pleasant. They made the stay for us. We would use this hotel to break a long journey again.

My work puts me up here the rooms do the job and after a long drive I just want some food quickly so I go to the restaurant......but the food is terrible I've tried a few bits from the menu but oh my god it's bad , the only good thing is the chips.......but who can get frozen chips wrong, need to try next door for food next time ,
