Moorings Hotel

Went for lunch with my 2 friend and their 90year old dad. Service was great staff took talking to the dad , didn't rush to take our orders .Lunch was delicious. A big thanks to John, Lindsay, Anna and Iain the chef. Hope to visit again soon x

Good points first :- ▪︎ Conveniently postioned about 10 min from Motherwell train Station ▪︎ Comfortable bed and good bathroom ▪︎ Cooked breakfast good ▪︎ Kind, hard working staff Not so good points :- ▪︎ Superior room at front of hotel extemely high noise level from road with windows shut - sleep deprived. ▪︎ Very hot room no air con , however fan in room available. ▪︎ Understaffed at breakfast service -covering breakfast service and reception doesn't work effectively for guests. ▪︎ Continental breakfast options limited for healthy breakfast.

We stayed here for three nights during the Commonwealth Games. We travelled by train and the hotel is a short walk from Motherwell station. We received a friendly welcome and our rooms were clean and comfortable. Glasgow was an easy train journey away each day. We had dinner on our first night. The menu had a number of things we could have chosen and service was quick. Similarly the breakfast was reasonably priced compared to many places, with cooked and continental options available. The restaurant/bar was a great meeting place, with a relaxed atmosphere. We’d be happy to stay again.
