Hotel du Vin Harrogate

A great hotel for wine lovers and Yorkshire explorers. Lovely large bedroom and roll top bath. We enjoyed the courtyard for drinks and dined from the excellent tasting menu. A great spot for those who enjoy a range of different wines. Excellent breakfast with attentive and friendly staff.

We went here about 5 years ago and found it a lovely hotel .. food was poor We stayed here last night for one night and found the hotel very tired looking , the staff were dreadful .. no one looks at you , they are either extremely under paid or hate working there . It was just dull! Ur told its first come first served for parking which wasn’t available when we got there as we didn’t book directly ( I wasn’t told this before hand) and ended up having to pay hourly rates when we found a space . During our stay we saw there were plenty of hotel parking spaces ! They obviously don’t give them out if booked through another party but they need to be transparent! Bags don’t get taken to your room .. just find it’s expensive for not much .We stayed in the top suite and again it was ok but not good enough for the price you pay . Another thing I was surprised at were the rooms, there’s no aircon in any rooms meaning it was extremely stuffy and hot . They did put a tower fan either side of the bed but they were noisy and just blew hot air ! Included in the room was breakfast which again was as uninspiring as were the staff. The food was still dry and the coffee and tea weren’t even fresh , you poured it yourself at the buffet table . We definitely won’t be going again until they install some life into the hotel or maybe tell the staff to smile and greet guests abit more!

Great location and friendly staff, relaxing lounge and bar area...but very disappointing bedroom , desperately in need for refurbishing...restaurant disappointing and over priced.
