Brilliant lovely cosy friendly place lovely people food and drink 4 poster bed so comfortable perfect break away

We stayed for 2 nights while visiting Scarbrough for an event at the open air theatre. The rooms are modern with comfort touches and all the modern essentials including the free WiFi. Tea and coffee making facilities are provided in the rooms - would say that if you like a good Yorkshire Brew, then bring your own milk. The UHT pots were out of date and no milk alternatives were provided (e.g. oat or soya). The room we had was in the carpark, an outbuilding conversion, beautifully finished, with ensuite and small hallway (which was a welcomed addition). The room was spotless and daily cleaning and towel changes were welcomed. The only comment I would make on the room is that we would've liked the room to be aired on arrival, as it felt a little cold as if it had been empty for a while. There was an oil filled radiator in the wardrobe which was welcomed, as the central heating was off. We had 2 good nights sleep. There is a large carpark to the rear of the pub with plenty of parking. Breakfast was okay (first morning took around 90 minutes) and second morning felt like been rushed to eat, like being on a production line (one in one out) as there didn't seem much room in the restaurant area for a full (b&b) pub. I would recommend to the owners and managers to consider spilling this into the bar area if required, to allow guests space, rather than giving a feeling like they are sat one on top of another. Although we did not eat an evening meal or drink in the pub, I would comment that we were disappointed that the bar was not open for residents post 10pm even after 80% of the residents staying in the pub rooms were attending Scarbrough's theatres. This meant that we had stayed in a pub so we could have a drink before bed, and that we didn't have to think about driving anywhere afterwards. If this is what you are wanting too, I would say this is not the pub b and b for you. Would we stay again? Yes, possibly...

This place is an hidden gem , Great location on the Main Rd between Scarborough and Whitby , so great to use as a base . We stayed in a classic double room , which was very tastefully decorated , with all the facilities required. The drinks in the bar are priced correctly and the food was amazing Highly recommended We will definitely book again
