Swinton Park Hotel

Swinton Estate/Swinton Castle/ Swinton Park has had an interesting history. Conservative Party College in the 1970s. A Management Training Centre in the 80s and now a wonderful hotel and spa owned by Mark and Felicity Cunliffe-Lister. Why mention the Tory connection? Well no reason really except to say I always enjoy visiting this super place and looking at the fantastic portraits, especially the one of Willie Whitelaw, Mark's Grandfather whose eyes always seem to follow me when I walk down the corridor... And Willie's eyes once again locked on when I popped in for a Yorkshire Tea, for my Mum's 88th birthday last week. A lovely time had by all, with just a couple of points of note. Firstly a big shout out to Gaye who is as Yorkshire as they come tha knows. A relatively new Member of the Team, Gaye wears her heart on her sleeve, loves her job, loves her colleagues, loves her clients. In fact, she loves everything tha' knows. Her broad North Yorkshire accent complimented our positive experience and I trust that she passes her probationary period.   Only minor annoyance which I mentioned to the charming duty manager - sorry forgotten the gentleman's name, but he comes from Sicily - the background music was intermittent and noticeable when it wasn't playing as it did rather feel like a doctor's waiting room - not really what the DR ordered... Anyway. My view? Go and enjoy.

A very enjoyable stay at Swinton Estate. Luxurious surroundings, superb for walking and relaxing. Truly dog friendly. Highly recommended.

Absolutely beautiful!The spa was the best we’ve visited.Hotel immaculate. Staff are a credit to them.
