Where to start to be honest. As an ex Serviceman of 25 years, have stayed in some pretty ropey accommodation over the years but this was a different level of bad. The rooms and accommodation are very run down, with carpets hanging off stairs (mid stairwell) creating a dangerous tripping hazard, wallpaper peeling off the walls, the taps in the bathroom had trapped air and water spluttered out, frayed wiring on the TV aerial and the toilet waste pipe did not look properly connected. This is not an exhaustive list. From a cleanliness perspective it was filthy throughout. Thick grime on the bathroom floor, urine stains down the toilet basin, cigarette butts discarded on the window ledge (seen this also in another review) thick dust throughout and shower head covered in limescale. Again not exhaustive. In short we arrived, dropped our luggage off and spent 10 ish minutes in the room. Upon initially departing the hotel to attend the event we were there for, decided we weren’t staying and were lucky to get another hotel booking at short notice elsewhere. Upon arrival back at the hotel later to gather our belongings, on switching off a plug socket, managed to blow the lights in the room with a minor shock experienced. Looking at the other reviews I would be highly sceptical of anything positive said. Currently getting the runaround between the manager and booking.com for a refund with no communication from either.

Ok, so it's run-down, but it clearly used to be a very grand place. The room and bed linen were clean and the furniture wasn't old. It was fine for one night and the guy on the phone was true to his word and sorted out a parking charge afterwards - make sure you register your car at the parking machine when you arrive. PS. it's no longer owned/run by Belvilla, but by OYO Hotels, hence the title I've used!

Dirty Hotel, stains on bedding, mould under window, wallpaper peeling, broken kettle, dirty shower head, outside windowsill used as ash tray. No one on reception had to ring mobile number for access code. No one on reception at checkout
