Lovely wee hotel looking over Queens Dock on Liverpool waterfront. Small dining and bar area, very clean and the most welcoming & friendly staff. Our first visit to Liverpool as hubby was going to the Open and we stayed 4 nights on the ground floor in room 2 which looked right onto the water. There were table&chairs close by the window and we could hear conversations and so had to keep the curtain closed for privacy. The room would benefit from a decor update as all white with 1 picture and you could see the marks from previous repairs. The rooms are small and very basic. Small desk area with kettle and hairdryer, bed, small shelf unit and a small clothes hanging area which held about 8 hangers and the bathroom. The TV is wall mounted and there is only 1 double socket which has usb points in the room which are at the desk so you had to pick and choose what was plugged in. There is a mirror above the desk which I felt was too high for drying my hair and a full mirror on back of the door. No A/C in rooms but a small fan was provided which was very loud through the night which kept us awake so we baked our whole stay thanks to a mini heatwave. The bathrooms are very petite! You can sit on the toilet with your feet in the shower. Virtually no room to move about in the shower without getting tangled in the curtain. There is a raised lip at the doorway with a step down into room which I personally found very difficult due to my mobility issues and stumbled over it a couple of times through the night. Breakfast had good hot and cold variety if you took this option. The day and evening food menu is limited so we didn’t eat here but there is plenty of places to eat nearby. There is a McDonalds and KFC few minutes walk from hotel for a quick fix. There is a casino next door and a watersports centre in Queens Dock which has an inflatable water assault course, canoe/kayaks and pedalos. It’s approx 1 mile walk from hotel to Pier Head where the ferry is. Albert Dock is a bit closer. Liverpool one shopping area is about the same distance walk. Definitely a budget hotel which would benefit from room modernisation but the location and staff great. Wouldn’t say the rooms are the best accessible wise but I guess this depends on your disability and specific needs. Our next visit to Liverpool will definitely be more central due to my mobility issues.

We enjoyed a long weekend stay at The Dolby Hotel with "my" choir at the end of June on what was our first visit to Liverpool. The hotel is ideally located on the waterfront and within a short walking distance of the city centre. We were really impressed by the cordial welcome and friendliness of the whole staff and appreciated their family ambience as they did everything possible to make our stay a memorable one, which it truly was. And to show our appreciation and thanks we sang a fond farewell to them as we prepared to leave. Our room , while small , was spotlessly clean and comfortable. A particular morning delight was eating a substantial breakfast on the waterfront terrace, a great start to the day! We thought Liverpool was a vibrant , clean and friendly city, clearly proud of its regeneration but also aware of it dark past too. An open-air bus ride a wealth of elegant buildings reflecting its role as a major maritime and commercial centre and its renaissance as a city of culture as reflected in its two magnificent cathedrals. We can't wait to return to the city and to The Dolby Hotel. We will look no further! Excellent value. Thank you to all the Dolby team

Stayed at the Dolby twice in January earlier this year & again in July. The hotel has a great crowd of friendly staff always ready to help out a weary traveller with their local knowledge & assistance, Rooms are clean & fit for purpose (showers unfortunately are on the small side my only dislike really but they will get the job done ) TV, Kettle & Hairdryer al there waiting for you with complimentary hot drinks & a dippy biscuit. Bar prices don’t rip you off & there is plenty of outdoor seating when the weather is nice to sit out to enjoy one & watch the water sports activity outside I took advantage of a buffet breakfast while I was there plenty of good quality hot & cold food & drinks available. Car parking was included and it was approximately a 20 min walk into Liverpool One & Albert Dock will certainly return
